Don't judge a book. . .

So, when we moved to this neighborhood, I thought this little place looked kind of dilapidated. I never imagined this was the very place a friend had once mentioned as being the best Chinese food in Chinatown. He wasn?t lying, though. We got takeout from there ? fantastic. The Peking ravioli are perfect and addictive, and the spicy calamari was just right. Don?t be fooled by the outside, the small dining area is clean, albeit austere. I see much more King Fung Garden in my future.

Very Good Dim Sum

Posted by w j c. on 3/15/2006

Hong Kong style dim sum at it's finest! I just love the King Fung Garden. Just point to what you want and consider being adventurous. Not well suited for vegetarians or picky eaters though- since the servers hardly speak English and cannot tell you what is in the food. The price, especially for the area, is cheap at $6/ plate. Excellent authentic Chinese food.

go for the scallioin pie, so good. very small, so take out might be the best option.

King Fung Garden is a great little unpretentious restaurant on the threshold of Boston's China Town offering up delectible dishes for an outrageous value....very good on the pocketbook and at times beyond words for the effect on the palette. I eat there several times per month. When alone, I have the peking raviloi (6) for just over $3.00. If you're with a crowd of storyteller's then settle in with the Mongolian Hot Pot and cook you're own fish, and vegetables. The service is a marathon of one around a small room with 6 tables. The rice texture is stickey, soft and flavorful and ...it's white rice. The Chow Foon is masterful. The restroom is tiny but clean and stocked. 9/10. Bon Appetite.......
